Bridget Barker BSc - Senior Embryologist and Clinical Governance Lead
After graduating with a BSc (Hons) degree in Zoology, I joined Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridge. I then had the opportunity to travel and worked in two fertility centres in Australia. On my return to the UK I became Laboratory Manager/Senior Embryologist at Wessex Fertility in Southampton.I joined the team at Salisbury Fertility Centre in 2003 as a Senior Embryologist and specialise in embryo micromanipulation. I am a licenced ICSI practitioner.
Mark Howard BSc - Senior Embryologist and Laboratory Manager
Initially I trained as a university research scientist in developmental biology and tissue culture at King's College London. I became a clinical embryologist in 1994 when I moved to King's College Hospital where I used my expertise in micromanipulation techniques to establish the ICSI programme and have trained many embryologists, both in the UK and abroad.
I joined Salisbury Fertility Centre in 2003 as Laboratory Manager.
Nicola Monks PhD - Senior Embryologist and Quality Manager
I became a clinical embryologist in Sheffield following my PhD; investigating sperm competence and fertilisation in vitro, at King's College in London. I was the senior embryologist in Dorchester and joined the Salisbury Fertility Centre team in 2002 to set up the laboratory services when we expanded to be a complete IVF centre.I am especially interested in sperm function and banking for patients and donors. I have been involved in a number of local and national patient organisations, including the formation of the Infertility Support Group and the Twins and Multiple Births Association (TAMBA).
Emma Woodland BSc - Embryologist
Having graduated from Bath University with a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a year’s research placement, I gained relevant skills and experience in this field. During my studies I became very interested in a career in embryology and I joined Salisbury Fertility Centre as an embryologist in 2010. I thoroughly enjoy working within our small, friendly, professional team and am excited to be part of the continuous personalised approach to patient care.
Emma Woodland BSc - Embryologist
Rebecca Frettsome PhD - Embryologist
I joined Salisbury Fertility Centre in 2011. Prior to my work as an embryologist I completed a PhD with the Reproductive Biology and Genetics Group at the University of Birmingham, where my research was focused on investigating the interactions between human sperm and eggs. I am focused on using research and innovation to improve patient care.
Millie Mitchell BSc MSc - Healthcare Scientist
After graduating with a degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2011 I became very interested in reproductive biology. This led me to specialise my education by undertaking a Masters in Reproductive and Developmental Biology at Imperial College London which I completed with distinction in 2013. I joined Salisbury Fertility Centre following my MSc in 2013. The team is patient focused, professional and friendly. I am very proud to be a part of this, and excited to be working amongst them.
Sarah Derry BSc - Healthcare Scientist
I graduated from Exeter University with a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences with a study year abroad in Canada. Following an embryology-based final year research project I became interested in Reproductive Sciences and after graduating was determined to start a career in Embryology. In 2013 I started my job as an Associate Scientist at Salisbury Fertility Centre and have since become a Healthcare Scientist. I very much enjoy working here and I am excited to be a part of this successful and caring team.
